สงครามคอซอวอ

สงครามคอซอวอ (อังกฤษ: Kosovo War) มักจะกล่าวรวมถึงเหตุการณ์สองเหตุการณ์ที่เกิดขึ้นในคอซอวอ เขตที่อยู่ทางตอนใต้ของเซอร์เบีย คือ:

บทนำ

ในอดีตที่ผ่านมายูโกสลาเวียปกครองด้วยระบบคอมมิวนิสต์ มีผู้นำที่มีความสามารถในการปกครองและผสานความเป็นสมานฉันท์ระหว่างเชื้อชาติ คือจอมพลยอซีป บรอซ ตีโต ทำให้ความขัดแย้งทางเชื้อชาติไม่มีปัญหามากนัก จนกระทั่งเปลี่ยนแปลงผู้นำเมื่อตีโตถึงแก่กรรม ผู้นำที่ขึ้นมาสืบทอดตำแหน่ง คือ สโลโบดัน มิโลเชวิช ซึ่งเป็นคนเชื้อสายเซิร์บหัวรุนแรง ทำให้ก่อชนวนปัญหาเชื้อชาติเกิดขึ้นมาอีกครั้ง เมื่อระบบคอมมิวนิสต์ในรัสเซียล่มสลายปลายปี พ.ศ. 2534 ทำให้ก่อเกิดสาธารณรัฐที่ต้องการแยกเป็นอิสระ ซึ่งประเทศที่สามารถแยกตัวได้สำเร็จได้แก่ โครเอเชีย สโลวีเนีย มาซิโดเนีย และบอสเนียฯ ตามลำดับ

ช่วงสงคราม

ประเทศที่แยกตัวไปส่วนใหญ่จะมีปัญหาเนื่องจากชนเชื้อสายเซิร์บในประเทศไม่ต้องการแยกประเทศทำให้เกิดการปะทะในหลายพื้นที่ แต่ท้ายที่สุด โครเอเชีย สโลวีเนีย มาซิโดเนีย ก็สามารถแยกตัวได้สำเร็จและได้รับรองจากนานาชาติในการจัดตั้งรัฐบาลของตนเอง

มาถึงคราวของคอซอวอจะแยกตัวบ้างเพื่อไปรวมกับแอลเบเนีย ทางรัฐบาลเซิร์บไม่ยินยอม จึงทำการโจมตีและขับไล่ชาวมุสลิมเชื้อสายแอลเบเนียในคอซอวออย่างโหดร้ายทารุณ ในปี พ.ศ. 2542 ทำให้กองกำลังชาติพันธมิตรนำโดยนาโตและสหรัฐอเมริกาเข้ายับยั้ง โดยทำการโจมตียูโกสลาเวียทางอากาศอย่างหนักหน่วงเป็นเวลากว่า 90 วัน กดดันให้นายมีโลเซวิชยอมถอนทหาร และอนุญาตให้ผู้ลี้ภัยชาวมุสลิมเชื้อสายแอลเบเนียกลับเข้ามาตั้งถิ่นฐานใหม่ได้ โดยมีกองกำลังชาติพันธมิตรคุ้มครองจนกระทั่งปัจจุบัน แต่ปัญหาความรุนแรงในคอซอวอก็ยังไม่จบสิ้น แม้ว่านายมีโลเซวิชจะถูกจับกุม และตัดสินลงโทษโดยศาลโลกในฐานะอาชญากรสงครามแล้วก็ตาม การก่อวินาศกรรมในคอซอวอยังมีอยู่ต่อเนื่อง
