นิวต์ (อังกฤษ: Newts) เป็นสัตว์สะเทินน้ำสะเทินบกจำพวกซาลาแมนเดอร์ ในวงศ์ซาลาแมนเดอร์แท้ (Salamandridae) ในวงศ์ย่อย Pleurodelinae
นิวต์เป็นซาลาแมนเดอร์ขนาดเล็ก กระจายพันธุ์ในทวีปอเมริกาเหนือ, ยุโรป และเอเชีย เมื่อยังเป็นวัยอ่อนจะมีพู่เหงือกที่เรียกว่า "เอลฟ์" (Efts)
นิวต์มีลักษณะภายนอกที่แตกต่างไปจากซาลาแมนเดอร์ คือ มีผิวหนังที่แห้งกว่าและขรุขระหรือเป็นตะปุ่มตะป่ำกว่า และมักมีพิษ ในประเทศไทยมีการค้นพบนิวต์สายพันธุ์ใหม่ มีชื่อเรียกว่า กะท่าง (Tylottriton verrucosus) พบบนดอยสูงทางภาคเหนือที่สูงกว่าระดับน้ำทะเลมาก จัดเป็นจำพวกซาลาแมนเดอร์สายพันธุ์เดียวที่พบในประเทศไทย และมีพิษด้วยเช่นกัน
