ขบวนการไซออนิสต์

ขบวนการไซออนิสต์ (อังกฤษ: Zionism; ฮีบรู: צִיּוֹנוּת ‎ Tsiyyonut) เป็นทั้งอุดมการณ์ และขบวนการชาตินิยม ในหมู่ชาวยิวทั้งที่เชื่อในการสถาปนาใหม่และสนับสนุน รัฐยิวในบริเวณที่นิยามว่าเป็นแผ่นดินอิสราเอลในประวัติศาสตร์ (โดยประมาณตรงกับคานาอัน แผ่นดินศักดิ์สิทธิ์ หรือภูมิภาคปาเลสไตน์) ขบวนการไซออนิสต์สมัยใหม่เกิดขึ้นในปลายคริสต์ศตวรรษที่ 19 ในยุโรปกลางและยุโรปตะวันออกเป็นขบวนการฟื้นฟูชาติ ทั้งเป็นปฏิกิริยาต่อความเกลียดกลัวยิวที่เกิดเป็นระลอก และยุคภูมิธรรมยิว (Haskalah) ไม่นานหลังจากนั้น ผู้นำขบวนการส่วนใหญ่ตั้งเป้าหมายหลักคือการสร้างรัฐในปาเลสไตน์ ซึ่งในเวลานั้นอยู่ในการควบคุมของจักรวรรดิออตโตมัน

ลักษณะร่วมของนักขบวนการไซออนิสต์ทุกประเภทคือการอ้างแผ่นดินอิสราเอลเป็นมาตุภูมิแห่งชาติของยิวและเป็นความมุ่งสนใจโดยชอบของการกำหนดการปกครองด้วยตนเองของชาติยิว โดยตั้งอยู่บนพันธะทางประวัติศาสตร์และประเพณีศาสนาที่เชื่อมโยงชาวยิวกับแผ่นดินอิสราเอล นักขบวนการไซออนิสต์ไม่ได้มีอุดมการณ์แบบเดียวกันทุกคน แต่มีวิวัฒนาการในคำโต้ตอบในบรรดาอุดมการณ์ต่าง ๆ เช่น ไซออนิสต์ทั่วไป ไซออนิสต์ศาสนา ไซออนิสต์แรงงาน ไซออนิสต์แก้ ไซออนิสต์เขียว เป็นต้น

หลังยิวได้กระจัดกระจายออกจากมาตุภูมิเกือบสองสหัสวรรษ อยู่ตามประเทศต่าง ๆ โดยไม่มีรัฐชาติของตน ขบวนการไซออนิสต์ก่อตั้งขึ้นในปลายคริสต์ศตวรรษที่ 19 โดยยิวฆราวาส ส่วนใหญ่เป็นการตอบสนองของชาวยิวอัชเคนาซิต่อการต่อต้านยิวที่เพิ่มขึ้นในทวีปยุโรป ขบวนการทางการเมืองนี้ก่อตั้งขึ้นอย่างเป็นทางการโดยนักหนังสือพิมพ์ชาวออสเตรีย-ฮังการี ธีโอดอร์ เฮิร์ซล์ ในปี 1897 ขณะนั้นขบวนการดังกล่าวส่งเสริมให้ยิวอพยพไปยังปาเลสไตน์ของออตโตมัน
