ภาษาเซอร์เบีย (อังกฤษ : Serbian language ) เป็นหนึ่งในหลายมาตรฐานของภาษาถิ่นชทอคาเวีย (Štokavian dialect) ภาษาเซอร์เบียใช้มากในเซอร์เบีย มอนเตเนโกร โครเอเชีย บอสเนีย-เฮอร์เซโกวีนา และชาวเซิร์บในทุก ๆ ที่ มาตรฐานเดิมของภาษานี้คือ ภาษาเซอร์เบีย-โครเอเชีย (Serbo-Croatian language) ปัจจุบันแตกออกเป็นมาตรฐานภาษาเซอร์เบีย ภาษาโครเอเชีย และภาษาบอสเนีย
ภาษาเซอร์เบียมีคุณสมบัติเฉพาะที่ภาษาอื่นส่วนใหญ่ไม่มี คือ ทุกคำสะกดตามที่อ่านตรง ๆ และทุกตัวอักษรแทนหนึ่งเสียง หลักการนี้เป็นไปตามสุภาษิตที่ว่า "เขียนตามที่พูดและอ่านตามที่เขียน" ("Write as you speak and read as it is written") ซึ่งเป็นหลักการที่ใช้โดยวุก สเตฟานอวิช คาราดจิช (Vuk Stefanović Karadžić) ตอนที่ปฏิรูปการสะกดภาษาเซอร์เบียด้วยอักษรซีริลลิก ในคริสต์ศตวรรษที่ 19
อีกคุณสมบัติเฉพาะของภาษาเซอร์เบีย คือการใช้อักษร 2 แบบ คือ อักษรซีริลลิก และอักษรละติน ซึ่งแทบจะเหมือนกัน ยกเว้นในรูปอักษรที่ใช้ ที่เป็นเช่นนี้เนื่องจากเหตุผลทางประวัติศาสตร์ เนื่องจากส่วนหนึ่งของประชากรที่พูดภาษาเซอร์เบียอยู่ภายใต้อิทธิพลทางตะวันตก (ที่ใหม่กว่า) ของออสเตรีย-ฮังการี และส่วนที่เหลืออยู่ภายใต้อิทธิพลทางตะวันออก (ที่เก่ากว่า) ของจักรวรรดิไบแซนไทน์ ผู้มีการศึกษาทุกคนจะมีความรู้ในทั้ง 2 อักษร
