ในทางภาษาศาสตร์ ทวิภาษณ์ (อังกฤษ : diglossia ) คือสถานการณ์ที่มีการใช้ภาษา สองภาษาหรือวิธภาษา สองวิธภาษาในชุมชนภาษาหนึ่ง ๆ โดยแบ่งหน้าที่กันอย่างชัดเจนและสม่ำเสมอ นอกเหนือจากวิธภาษาท้องถิ่นหรือวิธภาษาที่ใช้ในชีวิตประจำวันของชุมชน (เรียกว่า "วิธภาษาต่ำ") แล้ว ยังมีการใช้วิธภาษาที่สองซึ่งผ่านการจัดประมวล (เรียกว่า "วิธภาษาสูง") ในบางสถานการณ์ เช่น งานวรรณกรรม การเรียนรู้แบบเป็นทางการ พิธีศักดิ์สิทธิ์ หรือสถานการณ์เฉพาะเจาะจงอื่น ๆ โดยไม่นำไปใช้อย่างปกติในการสนทนาทั่วไป ในกรณีส่วนใหญ่ วิธภาษาสูงไม่มีผู้พูดเป็นภาษาแม่ แต่ผู้พูดมีระดับความคล่องแตกต่างกันไปในชุมชนที่วิธภาษาทั้งสองปรากฏอยู่ อนึ่ง คำว่า "สูง" และ "ต่ำ" ในที่นี้ไม่เกี่ยวข้องกับชั้นสังคม แต่อย่างใด
