โบสถ์พราหมณ์

โบสถ์พราหมณ์ หรือชื่ออื่น ๆ มนเทียร (mandir), เทวาลัย (devālaya) และ โกยิล (koil) เป็นชื่อเรียกของศาสนสถานในศาสนาฮินดู ในความเชื่อถือว่าเป็นที่ประทับของเทพเจ้าหรือสิ่งศักดิ์สิทธิ์ตามความเชื่อของฮินดู โครงสร้างของโบสถ์พราหมณ์สร้างขึ้นเพื่อนำมนุษย์กับเทพเจ้าเข้าหากันผ่านทางสัญลักษณ์ที่แสดงออกถึงแนวคิดและความเชื่อของศาสนาฮินดู สัญัลกษณ์และโครงสร้างของโบสถ์พราหมณ์มีรากฐานในความเชื่อแบบพระเวท ประกอบการใช้วงกลมและสี่เหลี่ยมจัตุรัส มนเทียรหนึ่ง ๆ จะนำเอาองค์ประกอบทั้งปวงของจักรวาลวิทยาฮินดูเข้าด้วยกัน แสดงให้เห็นถึงสวรรค์ (พระเจ้า) มนุษย์ และความชั่วร้าย รวมถึงแนวคิดของเวลาและชีวิตผ่านธรรมะ, กามะ, อรรถะ, โมกษะ และ กรรมะ

ในภาษาไทยได้นิยามความหมายว่าเป็นเทวสถานที่ใช้ประกอบพิธีกรรมของศาสนาฮินดู มีพราหมณ์เป็นผู้ดูแลและประกอบพิธี
